LBNano is dedicated to the development of next-generation liquid biopsy technologies for prevention, early detection, and prognosis of human diseases. Our pioneered point-of-care (POC) device can be used in either a clinician’s office, hospital or at home. The company’s headquarters has a combined office and laboratory facility in Chicago.
Our People
The LBNano team is composed of talented individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences with over 90 percent holding MS or PhD degrees in the fields including analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, biophysics, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, and computer sciences. The multi-disciplinary environment at LBNano encourages creative thinking and facilitate the development of innovative technologies.

Richard Guan, Ph. D. — Founder
Dr. Guan is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a leading expert in the fields of nanopore sensing and fluorescent assay, and is especially well known due to his pioneering work in detection of infectious diseases, cancer, cardiovascular disease, heavy metals, food safety and bio-defense. He has authored > 150 journal articles and conference abstracts. He is associate editor of Frontiers in Chemistry.

Dr. Zhang holds a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Illinois Institute of Technology. He is currently a research scientist at University of Chicago. He specializes in nanopore sensor platform development, fluorescent assay, microfluidic chip fabrication, and nano device design. Dr. Zhang's research interests include cancer prevention, early diagnosis & prognosis as well as DNA / protein chip development and application. He has authored > 20 articles.

Ms. Zhou received a M.S. degree in computer sciences from University of Kentucky. She is an expert of artificial intelligence and machine learning. She has more than 10 years' experience in the field of cancer early detection and diagnosis, especially by taking advantage of machine learning-assisted protein and nucleic acid biomarker investigation. She has been engaged in business for many years.
